I am gearing up to load my car and drive east by the end of the week. I start a new job as a high school art teacher this fall in St. Louis, Missouri. The thought of ending my time in Buena Vista is definitely bittersweet. I have been catching myself misty-eyed on my drives into town, and my walks in the woods. If there is a more beautiful place to spend your days, I can't imagine it. Beyond enjoying the majesty of these peaks and streams and pastures, I have loved living with family and finding good friends. It won't be easy to say goodbye.
While I don't have many paintings worth sharing at the moment, here are a few of my favorite photographs from the past 6 months in the mountains.
Here's hoping adventure finds you, wherever you are.
"Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop away from you like the leaves of Autumn."
